On This Day - November 02, 1964. The first twin-engined helicopter to arrive in Australia, either civilian or military, was the Ansett-ANA Sikorsky S-61N VH-BRI helicopter. It arrived at the Melbourne Docks aboard the ship 'S.S. Cape Blanco' and was then transported by road to Melbourne (Essendon) where it was re-assembled and prepared for flight. |
